The board of Chinese checkers is laid out with a six-pointed star. The colored board contains small holes or spaces on which the marbles are placed. The game pieces are usually colored marbles. In the starting point, the ten marble pieces are placed in the form of a triangle. In Hong Kong a rapid paced version of this game was played. This game gained popularity in the 1980s. In this game, the hopping over the other marble pieces is allowed. You can have several hops, but make sure that every hop is directly adjacent.

As far as the “hop across“ variation is concerned, every individual participating in this game is supposed to place his or her marbles on a corner of the star and endeavors to relocate his or her marbles to the corner opposite.
The players of Chinese checkers in their turn can move a step. Apart from this, they may also undertake a series of one or more hops. One can shift his or her marble to an adjacent blank place in any directions. Other than this, you can hop across a single marble of your own or your opponent player.
The players mostly search the opportunity to get the longest path for hopping. A longest hopping path helps to progress a player towards his or her destination.
